4th Grade Wax Museum In less than an hour, fourth graders at Piedmont raised $542.20 for Least of These Carolinas on March 28th, 2017. Students lined the elementary hall forming a “Wax Museum” of presidents and first ladies. As attendees passed through the hall, they deposited money into the jars of the students in order to hear about the historic lives of their characters. Head of School, Jennifer Purdee shares, “Citizenship is a big emphasis in Piedmont’s Core Knowledge curriculum. Academics, Character and Community are our core values. This event brings together all of our core vales in a meaningful way.” Least of These Carolinas identifies and services the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children and their caregivers, with the primary focus on children in foster care in Gaston County, through a community effort of local churches, businesses, and caring citizens.
