Student Spotlight: Carson Cabaniss

Piedmont Senior, Carson Cabaniss, will be attending her first choice university in the fall, the University of South Carolina, to major in business.  While she was also accepted to the University of Alabama, the gamecock campus appealed to her with its location that felt comfortable yet within easy reach of a good sized city. She was offered the Presidential Scholarship for Gardner Webb for $19,000 as well as the Presidential Scholarship at Wingate for $19,000.

National Honor Society (NHS) has been her favorite club. She loves the NHS club sponsor, Mrs. Whitlock. Also very active in the fine arts, Carson has danced for Mrs. Paul since 6th grade and is now completing Art 4.  She was a varsity soccer and volleyball player.

Having been at Piedmont since Kindergarten, Carson is ready to begin her new chapter at USC.    Carson shares, “The teachers at Piedmont know all their students.  Piedmont has a warm community.  The student-teacher relationships are on a personal level and we are not just a number.  My parting advice for freshman is to work as hard as you can early on so that you can enjoy your senior year.”

Carson has taken four AP classes and won the AP US History award last year.  She is always willing to lend a hand and is the portrait of a Piedmont graduate.
