Clubs & Activities

Secondary Clubs for 6th – 12th Grade

Bible Club is for 6th-12th grades meeting Thursdays from 3 to 3:45pm beginning the 2nd week in September. They have a time of prayer and opportunity for students to share what is going on in their lives.  (

We Cry Out

Chess is for 6 – 12th grades. It will be on Thursday afternoons in Mrs. Walter’s room starting on Sept. 8th. Chess promotes strategic thinking. (

Fencing is for 6th to 12th grades. It is $50 a month paid on the first session of the month.  Instructor, Gabe Green, who is safe sport certified working with Knights of Siena Fencing Academy, will bring all equipment. They meet Tuesdays after school beginning in October.  Tuesday, Sept, 13th at 3pm will be an interest meeting. (

All-in-All Alliance club provides a time for middle and high school students, both LGBT and straight allies, to come together to have conversations about LGBT and other issues in a safe, supportive environment. (

Piedmont Community Dance Ensemble is for 6 – 12th grades.  Auditions are September 6th from 3-4pm and will meet on Tuesdays.  (

Piedmont Patriot Historians helps students learn and experience the history of North Carolina.  Grades 6 – 12th have met Tuesdays after school.  (

Student Council is for 6 – 12th grades.  The middle school sponsor is  Beginning Thursday, September 9th Middle School student council will meet Thursdays from 3- 3:30pm.  High school student council sponsors are and Details about an interest meeting are coming soon.

* Ballet will be an open class on Wednesdays 3-4pm for 6th-12th students beginning September 8th in Mrs. Paul’s room.

* Drama will have auditions in October for the Christmas play. There will be January auditions for the spring play. Details will be provided as the date approaches.  (

* Tap will be an open class beginning September 12th from 3-4pm every Monday in Mrs. Paul’s room. (

* Ballet, Drama and Tap are not clubs but after school opportunities like math tutoring for Piedmont students.

High School Only Clubs

Junior Heart Board is led by Mrs. Cook who is an EC teacher at Piedmont.  They will begin the Tuesday after Labor day then going forward meet the 1st Monday of each month.  This is a service based organization that educates on having a healthy heart. They serve the community in a variety of ways. (

National Honor Society is for 10th – 12th grades meeting 3rd Wed. of the month. Tuesday, September 13th existing NHS students will meet for the first time. For more info, contact sponsor at or

Prom Committee is for 9 – 12th grades meeting 1st Wednesday of the month from 3 – 4pm. This group plans Prom and other after school dances for both Middle and High School. (

Sign Language Club is led by Nancy Revels who is an EC teacher at Piedmont. Sign language club interest meeting will be announced soon. They have met on Tuesdays from 3-3:45 and is free. (


Middle School Only Clubs

Nation Junior Honor Society is for middle school students who have high academic averages and exhibit good character and citizenship. For more info contact sponsor at  More details on this coming soon.

Art Club for Middle School will meet in 2 groups beginning October 4th. 6th graders will meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month and 7th and 8th graders will meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays.. A $10 art supply fee will be due upon student joining club. (

Middle School Chorus Club will begin rehearsing September 8th and meet from 2:50-3:30pm on Thursdays in Mrs. Hunter’s room.

Patriot Singers is an auditioned after school choir for 4th and 5th graders.  Rehearsals will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:50­-3:30pm, beginning September 13th. Students interested in auditioning will need to have a parent fill out the audition form on Mr. Stanley’s webpage by ​September 2nd.​

There is a $25 membership fee for those accepted into the choir which includes a Patriot Singers t-shirt.

National Elementary Honor Society is for 4th and 5th grade students with high academics and character.  Contact for more information.

Keep Piedmont Beautiful is a club that looks to improve and reuse to keep our campus looking great. It is for fifth grade.  There will have a parent meeting of interested candidates on September 9th at 3:15 in Mrs. Flynn’s room. Please contact the club sponsor with questions at
