Senior Spotlight: Claudia Taulman

Piedmont senior, Claudia Taulman, will be attending NC State in the fall of 2018.  She plans to pursue Fashion Marketing and Merchandising at NC State, which has offered her almost $6000 per year in scholarship money.

Claudia has a heart for the community, serving at the Boys and Girls Club, the women’s shelter,  Operation Christmas Child and more.  Piedmont has a wide assortment of clubs to help build leadership and character.  She shares, “I suggest that incoming freshman find a club that resonates with them and get involved. I’ve loved the service element of National Honor Society.”  Each year Piedmont’s National Honor Society serves at the local Special Olympics.

For incoming freshman, Claudia advises, “Take your time and enjoy your high school expiernce. It goes by faster than you think it will.”  Honors Chemistry with Mrs. Clemmer was Claudia’s most difficult high school class, but also her favorite. She feels well prepared for college from the skills gained at Piedmont, particularly in Honors Chemistry.

As an athlete, Claudia Taulman won the Most Improved Player award and scholar athlete award as a volleyball player at Piedmont. In Fall 2016, she sang her way to winning the high school talent show.  Later that school year, she was a Junior Marshall for 2017 graduation.  She serves regularly through her church, Parkwood Baptist, where she sings in the choir and serves the community.
