Senior Spotlight: Megan Panther

Piedmont senior, Megan Panther, plans to attend the Lake Norman Dental Assisting School in Mooresville.  Once she completes the program, she will become an Orthodontic Assistant.  The dental profession has a high demand for assistants that are proficient in dental technology and administration. Megan will become a cross-trained dental assistant through education and hands-on training.

While in high school Megan has participated in the Patriot Pride Club, the Piedmont Patriot Historian Club and the National Honor Society (NHS).  She has loved volunteering at the special olympics through NHS.  Outside of school, she has a part-time job, working anywhere from 15-30 hours a week at Chick-fil-A. Her favorite class throughout all of high school was biology honors. Not only was the topic interesting to Megan, but she loved that it was a small class of friendly helpful students.  Chorus teacher, Renee Painter, is her favorite teacher, due to Mrs. Painters warm personality.

Megan’s advice for rising freshman is, “Get out of your comfort zone and try new things. If you want to play a sport, try out. If you want to join that club, join it. Don’t let fear stop you from doing the things you want. High school is about learning and figuring out who you are so don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.”
